What CommitGuessr knows about you.
Short answer: as little as possible. CommitGuessr is a daily puzzle hosted in the EU on Vercel. There's no account, no login, and no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
localStorage
We store your last-played day index and the result of your last session in your browser's localStorage so refreshing the page lands you on the summary instead of replaying. This data never leaves your device. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Error tracking (Sentry)
When something crashes, an anonymous error report is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. IP addresses are scrubbed at ingest, no user identifier is attached, and we don't enable session replay or performance tracing. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site working.
Aggregate analytics
When you finish a session, we record the day index, your total score, and per-axis sub-scores so we can see whether the difficulty is in the right band. No identifier of any kind is attached — not a session ID, not a hashed IP, nothing. The data is anonymous by construction.
